Taxation is crime

After the 2018 refund, because of the tax cuts, I re-filed my W-4 to have less money taken out for taxes so I would INTENTIONALLY get a lower refund. $300 lower refund - I failed. I'm going to have to W-4 withholding down again even though my total taxable income has increase much more than inflation. I've never had this happen to me in the +50 years I've been filing federal taxes. Ever.
