If one reads the above report, two days old at this posting, the early conclusions are ominous to be sure. Anyone who would deny the possibility that this thing could be out of control NOW is not paying much attention. And while there may be a lot of disinformation, 'normalcy-bias' is for sure a certainty. Folks everywhere are inured to the possibility of death, despite their many fears, and a surfeit level of calamity and cognitive dissonance can leave even the most solid thinkers taking a step back to ponder anew. I don't think as of now there is an answer.

WHO (for what it's worth) says there are "no known therapeutic inhibitors" to this strain of the coronavirus, and much is still not understood about it. Not everyone can afford to wrap their houses in plastic and duct tape and have food and other preps for a month+, but the advice to be prepared should not be panic-inducing information based on what we know and don't know about this situation. Seems to me like a good heads up, considering many folks potential to lose out on a lot of things like freedom of movement, etc. if a quarantine does go global, so it wouldn't hurt to get a little extra food, fill prescriptions and gas tanks, and be prepared to hunker down for a bit.
