Just look at how many idiots contracted 20 years+ mortgage loans, thinking that for 20 years, they will be immune to an illness, or job loss, or injury, or economic crisis...


Or student loans, or whatever loans.



Same is with the pandemic. Most are looking at the present, they are seeing it as "not that bad", but they are also unable to see what is coming, even if it's crystal clear.



It's how the world was built in the last 40 years : cheaper loans, stock market artificial pumping, consumerism, economic growth based on loans and consumerism, and so on. Everything was rainbows and unicorns.


Thing is, this was bound to be over.



The virus only made it come faster.

This is possibly some good news. A study found that people exposed to the virus apparently fought it off with T cells before seroconversion (ie before developing antibodies). I mentioned something like this a few weeks ago on this thread but now there is a study to back it up.

"Six of the eight contacts reported COVID-19 symptoms within 1 to 7 days after the index patients but all were SARS-CoV-2 seronegative. Six out of eight contacts developed a SARS-CoV-2-specific T cell response against structural and/or accessory proteins that lasts up to 80 days post symptom onset suggesting a past SARS-CoV-2 infection. Conclusion. Exposure to SARS-CoV-2 can induce virus-specific T cell responses without seroconversion. T cell responses may be more sensitive indicators of SARS-Co-V-2 exposure than antibodies. Our results indicate that epidemiological data relying only on the detection of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies may lead to a substantial underestimation of prior exposure to the virus."

I recall that, but bear in mind that SARS CoV2 can kill T cells also. So it will be a person specific response, and with a sample rate of 8 persons, this study is in the category of "anecdotal".

It also had a brief story about online comments being deleted and people being detained for those comments, one said that the actual death toll was 400K people in China.

Yeah, they (or someone) needs to test a lot more people. Also they need to start testing for these T-cells. They were able to do it in the study but I don't know if a cheap and easy test is available for the general population.

This might explain why area like Wuhan, Italy and New York that have massive outbreaks fell off pretty rapidly, but other areas like California were slow to start but are picking up even now. I still wonder how New Zealand is going to fare in the long run.

Is easy to say it's a low number when you are not directly affected.

That "low" number you see its low exactly because of severe lock-downs in China.


The "low" numbers we see in other countries that did locked-down, are also low because of the said lock-downs.



But don't worry, this time, they will avoid locking-down (until they will do it anyway, because they will HAVE TO), and you, and others, will see how "low" the numbers will be.


And when, not if, the second wave really hits (it only started in some areas), the economy will be doomed anyway, lock-downs or not.

Tens of thousands of people will need to be recalled to hospital after a serious Covid-19 infection to check if they have been left with permanent lung damage, doctors have told the BBC.

Experts are concerned a significant proportion could be left with lung scarring, known as pulmonary fibrosis.

The condition is irreversible and symptoms can include severe shortness of breath, coughing and fatigue.

Yeah just chipping in to say, that the infection rate has climbed in Czech in the past four days (3 out of the 4 days) to levels not seen since around April 15th. I have been keeping a keen eye on the data. This is exactly as DR said and I would like to confirm this.

It never really got going proper here, which I now know was due to early lockdown. I can see it easily surpassing the worst peak that was seen in the first wave in a matter of weeks and as DR said we will now see what this virus is all about left unchecked.

Very frustrating, but I have spoke to many who think this is nothing and will fizzle out by Christmas. Many are going to have a rude awakening.

Now begins the discovery (perhaps) of long term side effects on people who were asymptomatic. If this (and similar cell damage) occurs to even 10% of the asymptomatic young people, we could be looking at a health crisis in the US as unprecedented in modern times.

Which reminds me that I did read an article that said Metformin does help against Covid , and that stock went up for a factory producing metformin
