If only they knew.....! Be safe Paramedic UK. It will be a blindsided impact when Brits realize this utter negligence. It took us a about 3 different bank holidays to give the virus the power of resurgence. UK was a little behind the US in reopening so your spikes is inevitably coming. Not to be a pessimist but it really is always just a matter of time. Sturgis, Labor Day, and school reopening here has lit another wick for spread Just. A. Matter. Of. Time. |

Will see how they do by mid-October. So if the lockdowns helped to kept the virus 'localised', hence the reason Lombardy was worse than Rome etc. This time the virus will spread a bit more evenly so it's going to get interesting heading towards late September early October. |

Will see how they do by mid-October. Hello DR! I hope you are having a good Sunday. As I have said before I think resistance to lock downs will only make the problem worse to the point that most people will beg for t he lock downs to be implemented. Having a “normal“ behavior leads to increased virus contagion. We all know that, most people still don’t see it clearly, and as long as they are not affected directly by the virus their normalcy bias makes them think the lock downs are the problem. When and If we reach a spread of the virus that makes no one possible to be free from direct effect of it in their personal life’s, people will change their normalcy bias to the other side and beg on their knees to be protected from the virus. The problem is much more the human psyche than the virus itself, as long as most of the people don’t realize the direness of our situation. All great truths begin as Blasphemies. G.B.S. GLP is like a diamond mine of information, in the sense that you have to shovel mountains of crap to find the diamonds, but it's still worth the pain. |

The problem is much more the human psyche than the virus itself, as long as most of the people don’t realize the direness of our situation. Hey Red. I hope you have a good Sunday also. Obviously the human behavior is the key factor in a pandemic. Our current society lacks logic, and it is easily influenced by politicians (who have no idea what we are facing, and are biased toward the economy) and opinion makers (who are basically idiots), leading to a strong majority that is against lock-downs, against masks, against distancing and basically thinks that this virus doesn't exists or it's nothing but a simple cold. This majority is going to fight against any logical reasoning, and when paired with school opening, is going to lead to a massive second wave. The U.S., when facing the July resurgence, managed to lower their cases by mid-August...but schools got reopened, and now, the U.S. is not only back on an upward trend, but a strong upward trend. Europe's resurgence started, as I predicted, in August, and, as I also predicted, is now on a strong upward trend, which will skyrocket, starting in October. France posted 7k new cases today...on a Sunday. Tomorrow they will most likely have the same numbers, but starting Tuesday, I won't be amazed at all to see France going over 10k/cases a day, and reaching 15k cases/day by mid-September...unless they quickly close the schools. Spain is going to post massive numbers next week, and U.K. is going to reach 5-6k cases / day next week. I am going to say again : by mid-October, the pandemic will be bad, in any country that have schools open, and the decision to lock-down again will have to be implemented or rejected. I do not expect them to do it, and this will lead to a crisis in November, which the world won't be able to cope with. Sadly, the rise in cases, hospitalizations and deaths is not going to be serious, by mid-October, and this will make the politicians avoid to lock-down, and the hoaxers majority to keep doing what they do. The situation will become bad really fast, after mid-October, and most people won't even know what hit them...but by that time, it will be too late. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 79349572 Czechia 09/06/2020 05:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Love the effort put into this thread! Thanks for updating! A few days ago here in Czech we had three straight days of records being broken. Quite dramatic increases. The graph has been remade three times over the last weeks to accommodate this increase. [link to www.worldometers.info (secure)] What is bothering me as others have pointed out. Is the sheer ignorance of the general public! Relying on msm for facts, which is very naive to say the least. I can’t help but think back again to the Spanish flu, where it’s now commonly known the reason it got named after Spain, is because they told the truth about the death toll. As opposed to UK and US who lied to keep public morale and maintain a strong appearance to their enemies in war. Same ignorance today, same patterns of first and second wave in timing, reluctance to wear masks, and media lies. So each country I believe is molding a BS story for their people, just to lower people’s guard and get them out catching this thing as much as possible. I’d say this was all part of the scripted tactic devised long ago. Still shocking to believe China has had what is it? Like 4000 odd dead. They would be on the extreme end of lying, but great deception is at hand here. |

Quoting: Serenity Now Stay safe and healthy, everyone. :) Romania is like everyone else. Most people think it's a hoax or a flu. We barely test anyone, around 24k / day, with 10k of them are voluntary, from people who went in holidays abroad, and needed a test. Almost all of them were negative, as expected, and this skews the results of testing. We're opening the schools on 14th, so, yeah... |

I also expect the government bodies to be hesitant to lock down or close schools. I northern Germany schools have been open for some weeks, but we have started from a very low baseline of infections. This will change. Schools in southern Germany are opening up this week, but with many more infections in the background. When you say crisis in November, can you specifiy? Do you personally expect a Mad-Max-like situation? What are you doing/recommend to prepare? Thanks! |

And the Australian government saying they have ordered 50 million of this vaccine, and will make another 80 million of another one , sounds really sketchy to me , and I haven't herd ( pun intended) one person ask if it's going to be an annual vaccine like the flu shot , the making it out like we will only need to take it once , all they've said is that you will need two doses to be covered , sounds like total shit to me when the virus mutates all the time , but .... I'm no expert so please correct me if I'm wrong. |

I may sound sarcastic but... I really don't understand some politics choices... There is no evidence that people affected by Covid-19 are not infectious after 7 days... Even some italian virologists started to call "asymptomatic" as "pre-symptomatic" because no one still knows exactly how this virus behave in people with no visible symptoms and how it replicates in younger and "stronger" hosts.
