You must realize that your model may be the right one yet most Western countries could decide to downplay the situation as much as they can or just avoid testing in general. The word coronavirus is too toxic for the society and the markets. Initially they might give some numbers to chew on and later go silent pretending their containment measures work (like China does) while others could just say they had increased numbers of seasonal flu and that's it.

We already have strong indications the stock markets are being manipulated to give a sense of normalcy.

I feel we will never find the real extent of the pandemic.
They will allow it to take its course and if the number of dead is not extreme they can hope their economy will not be hurt.

Boy Howdy do I have an update coming - I am traveling now in the USA (unavoidable event with 87 yr old father, long been committed to attend) and yes I am a guinea pig of sorts. But my update post will not be on the virus status but my update post will be on the global economy (my on the ground 30 year plus business/personal relationships continue to send me information on their situations). This upcoming week will be devastating for the global markets. Unprecedented in our times. The beginning pain and fall out for consumers is coming sooner than expected but there is no doubt it will be biblical and historical. In the USA I think a city of reasonable size or maybe State will announce drastic measures that will signal to all USA this is biblical. My update will be on May Feb. 25th very late USA time. But expect every media source globally at any time now to begin announcing "supply chain" temporary disruptions that I can tell you will be permanent. Food is the primary issue governments are all discussing now. Logistics and delivery will eventually become irrelevant.
