Serious question about managing human waste with no toilet

Why rid x?

A little easier to buy than lime. Smaller packaging, easier to use, too. Rid-X seems to work like lime, but I really don't know the answer and I'm hoping someone on here knows.

Why cant you go outside, take a shovel and dig a latrene. Pee and poop there. Cover it up after a few days and dig a new one. I would be more concerned on why you think you cant go outside, thats really the SHTF.

You can always dump urine outside and crap in a plastic bag and just throw it away.

Never add crap and urine together though.

Good luck digging a latrine where I live. The ground has been frozen for months now.

Pee goes now the sink... even some poo could if diluted.

I have saved some coffee cans though and my garden which some jerk before me sterilized could use it.

Those living in mass apartments will have problems on the poo part.

Lime is 100x cheaper than rid x. It's called a bucket and lime. Urine can be tossed outside.

OH.. OP what happened to the toilet.. most do have one. Even if it can't be flushed...Urine goes down the drain. Do you have a drain and a plug of course?

I got to experiment a few years ago when I didn't have water for 6 days...

5 gallon bucket lined with garbage bag, toilet seat over top....cedar flakes in between use. When able to go outside, burn it.....repeat.....

Put a garbage bag in the toilet. done.

(Then load it into the catapult.)

OP needs to answer for what reason is there NO TOILET?

Fill the bath tubs. Use that water to flush the obammas down. Pee in the sink.

You don’t need a fancy compost toilet when a toilet seat on a bucket will do

5 gallon bucket with a layer of sawdust. After evrey poop, add more sawdust.

Look up composting toilet on Utube.

Invite John McAfee over, have him lay on the floor facing up...

Eat only MRE's. Good for at least 30 days. After that your on your own.

Humanure toilet. Very simple, non-smelly and make your poo to beautiful compost

I'm a fan of the 'pitt toilet' - in a hole outside.

But if you don't have access to the outside - I dunno. You'd think it'd be good to have some outdoor facilities...

Five-gallon bucket, to be filled; five gallon bucket full of wood shavings; toilet seat made for five-gallon buckets, plastic bag (or not) to empty. Use bathroom; fill with shavings, should last a month with no smell. Compost later.
