US can't go technically bankrupt because all its debts are denominated in US Dollars which can be created infinitely.

The dollar will eventually be worthless, but the US can and will always pay its debts and obligations because they are denominated in USD.

Though I think the corps like having separate countries, instead of a unified world under one government. Conflict fosters opportunities, trade wars and all that stuff, to make a buck, and the whole cheap labor thing works out in their favor greatly.. as opposed to a worldly government who would impose fair work practices on all of the nations. A one world government could just move resources around as needed.. a corporate world loves to buy and sell resources cheaply from one place to sell for massive profit in another place. Walmart and Amazon for examples.
