001, I asked in the other thread but it got lost...
How exactly are the tests done to confirm a case of nCoV? The case from London, Ontario is a woman who tested negative, went home and stayed there, then after retesting results were switched to a weak positive.
She never showed symptoms, and there's no indication that she went back to the hospital for repeat testing. All articles I've found just say "results retested he switched"... I don't understand the process but I find the language around this case odd. Sad you're not Canadian, was hoping you'd have more insight on the Canadian protocols but I value your insight regardless.
If they re-used the initial test/sample from this patient, for the negative result, how would it be turned in to a positive? Would this put other negative results at risk of being false negatives?
And if they had to call this patient back in for a new round of testing, can you speculate as to how this team became suspicious of this case after declaring it negative?
