Since there is no real treatment, would your suggestion be to just treat the symptoms as best as possible?

Are there any alternative healing methods that might help?

I have my own beliefs, which I will keep to myself for now, but I am curious what you know about any of that. Seems to me, the thing to consider now is how best to treat it when one does get it.
