Olumiant is a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor. JAK inhibitors help disrupt how cells respond to some cytokines. Cytokines are proteins that allow cells to communicate with each other, and excess cytokines may cause inflammation. In RA, joint inflammation may cause pain, swelling, and tenderness.
