London will likely be shutdown and in chaos within a month.
I have some inside intel on this. Can't give too many details but I have a friend of many decades who works for a UK ministry.
He called me a few days ago out of the blue and we discussed contingency plans in detail. He has a young child and is planning to leave the city or at least get his wife and kid out.
I am in another European country and we are cancelling a trip to the UK scheduled for a large group in April. We are taking a substantial financial hit on the cancellation.

We hosted 2 young men 22 years ago (can't believe it's been so long!). One was from Denmark, the other from Russia. We still stay in contact. The Dane works in shipping, the Russian manages a large car dealership in Japan. I've been very concerned about both of them and their families with this virus. I hope you get to have your young lady come - it's an amazing experience. But this is such an uncertain time, it would be so very hard to have the US go into quarantine and cause problems for her to get home. I know you'd take care of her, though. That's the kind of person you are....
