Stupid woman cashier at IGA store could've handled it better....

As the thread title says, the female cashier could have handled it in a much more professional way instead of raising her voice at the guy in front of me at the line when she told him he had insufficient funds on his card balance when he was being humble in every way.

Oh I can tell she said it loud and clear for everyone to hear which was a bitchy move in my opinion and then she asked him if he had any other way to pay and went as far as saying she was going to check to see if the guy had a balance on his card once the receipt came out of the machine (again in a loud voice) which he didn't but I did offer to pay for the guys groceries and help him because I could see on that cashier computer screen the amount was only $18 something dollars but he refused and just left the store...stupid ass woman then had the nerve to apologize to me for him holding up the line when she SHOULD have apologized to him before he walked out the door and she remarked "well I guess I'll have to put his things in the cart and take it on back" in a sarcastic tone after which she called the manager over to finish ringing everyone else up but I said to her "you know what you did wrong" and just exited the store myself because a place like that doesn't deserve my money.


Maybe I'm overreacting, maybe I'm not but what was even worse about the whole situation? The guy was white and so was the cashier. Not sure if little details matter but the woman was short and I mean really short like 4' something and in her 50s I think while the guy was tall around 6 and in his mid 50s or 60s. So to see a small woman basically dominate over a huge man like that made it even more heartbreaking personally to me.
