What do you think would be the ultimate danger to human life on Earth?

Well what ever it is your memory is suggesting to you, you probably got it wrong.

Stop thinking the Earth will allways spin in the same direction.

If the Earth does this trick, the massive part will change rotation within a day...as if it is normal.
The oceans however flow freely and their inertia will force them to continue to do that as long as possible.
The oceans will overflow every continent, unannounced.

There is your ultimate doom.
