Mary was about 5 years old. Suddenly, under her perfect nails, white dots appeared, which then enlarged and eventually the nails came off and broke. Terrible. I ran to the doctors. First in Hunedoara, then at the best doctors in Cluj, university professors. Both cities are in Transylvanian space.
Atypical idiopathic onychomycosis. Treatments, over treatments. Analyzes, visits to Cluj at certain periods, etc. No result. Mary's little hands looked awful. What's more, the white dots had started to appear on the toes as well. We were desperate. I was in control again in Cluj. The medical professors saw that we were desperate. And they were overwhelmed. I got there as they reached to show me medical encyclopedias that contained atypical forms of onychomycosis. Mary's form of disease was not among those from the medical books.
The treatments were somehow experimental, they were overtaken by the situation. We left the office confused, not knowing what to do. And… I decided for the moment:
- We're not going home. We are going from Iasi to The Pious Saint Paraschiva Holy Remains.
That's exactly what I did. Arriving at the coffin, I talked to the father who was on duty there and he allowed Maria to touch the relics of the Pious with her hands.
- Mother Paraschiva, heal her nails with your hands… Then we went home.
And… without further intervention, Mary's fingernails healed.
It's not a fable, it's what we experienced.
