LAST HOUR: All the faithful present in Iasi will have access to the relics of Saint Parascheva - Order from the Ministry of Interior
Iasi, Romania, the police received an order from the Ministry of Interior to allow access to the Metropolitan Church of Moldova, to the Holy Relics, for all believers who are not present and attended today the holy liturgy outside the church.
The Metropolitanate will support law enforcement forces to continue to ensure access flows and compliance with distance and health safety measures. Initially, access to the Holy Relics was allowed only to those with a Iaşi bulletin.
Hundreds of people gathered on Wednesday near the Metropolitan Cathedral of Iasi to express their dissatisfaction with the restrictions imposed by the authorities. The participants, many of them without masks, quarreled and pushed with the gendarmes, forcing them to enter the cathedral courtyard.
The incidents started before noon, and the protesters remained at the Cathedral even though the gendarmes initially denied them access.
To ease the situation, the gendarmes allowed small groups of people to enter the yard in the afternoon.
