Researchers Have Identified 100 Mysteriously Disappeared Stars in The Night Sky

Across the Milky Way there are vacant spaces where a star once brightly shone. Some left clues in a dramatic death, or faded into retirement. Others simply moved into a new neighbourhood.

Not all vacancies have such convenient explanations, though. Some were there one moment and gone the next, inviting speculation over rare types of star death, extreme astrophysics, and, of course… advanced alien technology.

Revelation 8:12And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

It's vacuum decay.

Some part of the universe found a new, lower energy ground state and the rest of the universe is decaying into that state. It's progressing at the speed of light.

New ground state = entirely new physics.

Bye bye.

There is probably a race that sent out self replicating robots to contruct dyson spheres.

Remaking the existence via vacuum decay is more plausible.

Well this is exactly how EU theory says stars behave, as they are fuelled electrically by giant cosmic strings of plasma, when the current drops below a threshold level the stars just go out - and then can switch back on just as suddenly.

Aka a "vacuum metastability event". Wouldn't that be fantastic? To be ripped into nothingness just like *that*?

Re: Researchers Have Identified 100 Mysteriously Disappeared Stars in The Night Sky
Sooooo much resources are needed to construct a Dyson sphere... let alone 50-100... if exo-planets start to go missing too... Maybe?

Wouldn't we be able to track a black hole (radiation) if it was eating stars? Not a rhetorical question. I don't know.

Maybe the stars themselves are being harvested?

What an interesting topic, thanks for posting OP.
