Is it pretending if they don't really KNOW and/or can PROVE whether electric vehicles are good or bad for the planet? In this day where many just take Siri or Alexa's word for it and don't use critical thinking skills or research, they are told by the media, activists, politically (green new deal) motivated groups, etc. that electric vehicles are "good" so that must certainly be true, right? I've read studies on both sides of the argument and both sets of arguments are plausible. When paper towels were being replaced in rest rooms by electric hand dryers, I wondered whether the cost of the electricity, production of the machine itself (plastics, chemicals) and aspiration of vapor into the air possibly causing spread of germs was worth the perceived savings of not using paper. There are scholarly papers on both sides of this as well. A big problem is that the average person can't actually PROVE it to themselves so they are left to make the best of the data available to them. And where is this data stored and indexed? Hmmmm. Big tech skewing the search results? Would they really DO that? |
