And, I understand your feelings. People, in general, these days seem to be selfish. Meaning they are willing to take what you have to offer but will give nothing when you are in need. Even if the need is simple.

I think when Jesus overturned the tables at the temples saying they were making his Father's house a den of thieves illustrates what is wrong with the "churches with buildings" today. Modern church seems to be all about the "business" of running the profit of the church more than anything. It appears to be all take and no give. Or giving for show. Priorities are wrong and an entrenched hierarchy is on top. Some of these churches have $$$billions of dollars and don't want their members to know about it so they won't stop tithing. .. I read about this the other day.

I think the real "church" of Jesus isn't a corporation or a building, but the body of believers. I think this is the real church IMHO.

I feel sorry for folks that have spent a life time giving and following all the church dogmas only to discover that it changes and doesn't matter anymore or that the organization has moved on without them. Worse yet, I feel sorry for people who get shunned by a church because of something stupid like a divorce or something.

IMO all churches are just a business even though non profit they are a business that supports the hierarchy and operate tax free.

Yet, some people would really be lost if they didn't have 'their' church to give to. Some people really need the structure, but I don't think corporate church works well for everybody. It is surprising how some of the big ones don't have to follow the non-profit rules and only give 10% to charities. Yet, they are given Federal non-profit status. Something is very wrong with that.

Wow the person just called and I ignored the subject. When they brought it I told them it was ok. They said “you know we can’t ask the church to do that” an that is just a simple daily vote. I said “yes can but we are not going to talk about it again” and had a nice conversation.
