Has to be the bible. The millions who believe its actual amazes me. The tales themselves are fairly pedestrian, flying people,dead coming to life,some god(s) in charge etc. Common in most cultures in part if not all. They go be different names and different super powers, but all are super human in some way. Sadly, many seem to embrace death as a solution to some issue. Throw a virgin into the volcano or nail one to a cross, it all helps somehow. Blood is a fav in many. And some reward,Valhalla, heaven or just to not be anymore. Or punishment for not following the rules,HELL! Lots of spirits and the supernatural is fairly routine vs reality absent any. Not the best written but we don't know who actually wrote it or parts of it. No originals to compare the translation to a copy to a translation etc. So I give it a pass as a composite work by numerous authors.
