Septic Systems...... Get them serviced now !

Good advice. We've been here for 18 years and had it pumped twice.

Our first septic service was at about 7 years after we bought the house and only because the leech field started to stink from massive rainfall. The tank wasn't full.

2nd time was about two years ago when my son and family were here with an RV and they were using the bathroom. Then it filled up after 6 months or so. Grandson liked to take long showers and eventually the tank was overwhelmed. 580 bucks to pump.

So hopefully it shouldn't need it for q while.

I have aerator system. Just had it pumped with new filter and some new parts. However, the aerator motor runs on electricity. Two grand total to get it in shape. Might last me a bit. System designed for a family of 5. 2 here.

In a rural setting, there is always the woods as a final alternative, no worries.

take care of IT....as in only using "marcal" type toilet paper,
dump your favorite ridddd X type product routinely-
never use it as a garbage disposal-
maintain the area around the field
common sense etc etc
and IF it ain't broke,leave IT alone.

25 years young and survived kids,everyones
daily showers,multiple washer loads monday thru fridays-
temporary field flooding
on and on without any service.

leave it alone IF in order and IF NOT==ask among yerselves WHY ?

You do realize how septic systems work right? The solids sink to the bottom and the grey water, showers, sinks, laundry flow right though the filter and into the septic field. Why do you think they perk new property before a house can be built.

What is "perk a new property"?

They perform a perk test to check the water permeability and flow of the soil.

The house goes where it perks the least.

It is actually a percolation test to test permeability of the soil associated with a septic spray or leech field.

Had to move my new house from it's desired location due to the leach field needing a distribution box and three double rows of 100 feet each. Where we wanted the house is where the leach field needed to be.

You can use a composting toilet, or just some sawdust in a bucket. Dump the goods into a compost pile with straw and let it sit a year.

Clean out yer pipes!

Yes, We live in the sticks.

But We have a "self automated" septic system. It doesn't require pumping out.... ever.

It breaks down the sewage on its own.

Its a Septitech system





(we also have well water, so no worries here)

Thanks for the good suggestion anyways, as it does apply to most other septic systems.

with new constructions they should simply install a dry well for all grey water and the cesspool for the toilets.
and forget about these garbage disposal BS-scrap the plates for crrryssake--
save a lotta grief here.

Septic pumper said to put baker's yeast in the tank.
We repiped the washer drain out to the yard years ago.

Had a problem with acorns falling into the roof vents
and sprouting in the drain pipes.
Install covers on any open roof vent pipes.

is forest and English Ivy.
You know where to stick your "fine."

Learned the hard way. Roofers threw the old
shingles on top of the tank and collapsed the lid.
The dirt and roots stayed put and it took years
of trouble for us to find out what had happened.

It's grey water. It can go wherever you please.

If you flush some Rid-X down the toilet once a year you can go years and years with no service needed.

Keeping you system working is easy, shit in it, ok, thats it other than not putting anything in it you should not.
