[link to thebiggamehuntingblog.com (secure)] Though the .270 Winchester was not an immediate success, American hunters appreciated the flat shooting characteristics of the round and the fact that it was so effective on thin skinned game. It is indeed very flat shooting for a rifle cartridge. [link to gundata.org] For example at 200 yards it has dropped less than 4 inches. This can actually be improved with some 270 win ammo as well.That is just your basic deer round. You can find bullets from 90-180 grain.With most rounds around 130. That 90 grain and you will be picking off coyotes at 200+ yards. 130 deer out to 200. 180 bear at 20-40 yards(better have a nice tree stand and be a good shot). |
