LOL.. I completely agree with this. My cat follows me around the house, purrs, rubs against me, wants petted.. but, the shit would eat me fingers first if hungry enough.

I've had a few cats that I actually liked, but they were as Trump said of the J ws, vicious killers any way you slice it.

I had one orange tiger striped cat about 20 pounds that liked to go hunting with me, like a dog. The problem was often times he would run off with whatever I shot and partially eat it before I could get it from him, so I would shoot the first one for him, essentially. Bad ass cat, once saw it scare a Labrador retriever so bad it climbed up a tree. Tore his ass up first.

I get a fair number of muslim clientele that come up to the farm to buy, slaughter and butcher goats, lambs and beef cattle from us in the Fall.

They perform halal slaughter- outdoors, animal placed in submissive position and bled while they pray over it. When they're all done the fill the trucks of their cars and drive back to the city. Nice people, they bring the whole family, they see how we raise and care for our animals, they get to choose which one they'd like and they all get to participate in the process of obtaining their food.

You people sit in your cubicles in the city eating the food other people provide for you, like babies at mommies titty and you pontificate from on high about farming when everything you know about it you got watching Charlotte's Web.

Let me fill you people in on a couple of things regarding food. Everything has to die for human beings to eat. Someone somewhere is doing all the dirty work, raising, feeding, breeding, caring for and yes, even slaughtering and butchering them for you to enjoy. You may think that a USDA slaughterhouse is exempt from the kinds of unpleasantness you complain about, but I've been to enough of them in the past to tell you it's actually worse. An animal doesn't need the stress of being shipped around to a place that perpetually smells of death and fear when they can end their life in a place where they are familiar.

Most of China seems to be one big shithole.

Why are you lying? There are many stories of dogs eating their owners.

I doubt that anybody here thinks that USDA slaughterhouses or any other slaughterhouses for that matter are "pleasant", but they are still a step up from China, for reasons already discussed in this thread.

Our slaughterhouses may pay no mind to the suffering of animals, but at the end of their day the goal of them is efficiency above all else.

In China, they go out of their way to maximize the suffering of animals - even sacrificing efficiency to do so. The goal is literally to make the animal suffer, because they think that prolonged suffering makes the meat tastier.

So if your intent here was to spew some message about how "we're just as bad as they are", then you are simply wrong. We are not as bad as they are.

No, it wasn't my intent you fucktard. A USDA slaughterhouse is far worse than what I just watched in that video because animals operate on a level you cannot comprehend. The smell of a slaughterhouse is permeated with the stench of death, the farm smells just like it always has to the pig, so there's no apprehension, no terror from being put on a truck and driven to some distant point- all traumatic experiences they've never encountered before. That pig was dead in less than three minutes from the time they took it from it's stall. I hope I go that quickly.

I didn't find them particularly kind towards the animal, but you know what? Cultural diversity trumps your sensitivity in the Brave New World of globalism and the Chinese aren't exactly known for their sensitivity.

Nothing in the USDA slaughterhouses compares to the way that Chinese intentionally torture animals inside (and often outside) of their festivals. This is a straw man. The case I made had nothing to do with the video. What I was speaking of is the well-known Chinese practice of prolonging torture for as long as possible because they think it makes the meat tastier. That was not done to this pig. It is, however, frequently practiced all over China.
