I Tried This and it Worked Great. Hydrogen Peroxide in a Portable Humidifier.

If you breathe too much through your nose, you can irritate the membranes and it will make you sneeze for a bit. Also if you let too much mist touch your eyes, it will irritate them a little. I have never had any bad reactions to breathing this mist. I just make sure to keep it out of my eyes and not breathe too much in through the nose. That's it.

You don't have to use food grade hydrogen peroxide and water it down. The 3% stuff works fine. Costs less than a $1 per bottle.

H2O = water

H2O2 = hydrogen peroxide

It's about as natural as you can get. Just use the 3% solution and it's very controllable and not dangerous.

I don't know whether or not people realize that this is one of the most important topics that has ever been introduced on GLP.

The unit I bought can't have oils in it so I just use hydrogen peroxide. The video below describes its use in a diffuser with essential oils.

So when did you buy the made in China humidifier that is made of a hard surface such as plastic that the corona virus can live on for 9 days (according to your opening post)?

While the world is buying up nearly useless paper masks... Buy some humidifiers and nebulizers and hydrogen peroxide. They are widely available and cheap.

The one I bought was already in America and had probably been on a shelf for quite some time.

I always use some peroxide in my diffuser to make sure it stays clean. When I was sick I didn’t put any oils in it just water and peroxide and would breathe it in periodically.

Hydrogen peroxide is tough stuff. Rips electrons right out of cells through the cell membranes.

I like to cook, and for years I’ve kept a spray bottle in my kitchen filled with 3% hydrogen peroxide. When I’m done cooking and cleaning, I literally spray down EVERY range and counter surface and let it evaporate, and I spray a heavy coat on my butcher block where I do all my cutting. Sure enough, no matter how much I scrub that cutting block, when I spray it with hydrogen peroxide, it will turn WHITE with foaming action as it kills off bacteria still remaining.

I've been using bleach on my counter top but hydrogen peroxide is probably a better idea. I'm going to buy a bigger bottle next time I get some. I've been keeping the smaller bottle in the bathroom to rinse in my mouth because I have a troublesome molar. It really helps it.

Try it. It’s also been proven to kill viruses.

I spray it generously all over everything, including the faucet, inside of the microwave, range knobs.... everything. Just let it sit. Don’t wipe it off. It evaporates fairly quickly and there is no smell to it like bleach has.

If you put it in a spray bottle, don't use a clear plastic one. Light is not good for hydrogen peroxide. Use a dark plastic bottle or cover it in tape.

OP, I’ve never considered using H2O2 in a humidifier, but I like the idea of using that method to sanitize a room without “wetting” it down with a sprayer.

Not sure about breathing the stuff, but I like the idea of letting a humidifier run for a while and disinfecting each room.

I buy a 2-pack of larger bottles at Sam’s Club for something like 99 cents. The stuff is dirt cheap but incredibly useful as you know.

I've been breathing it with a nebulizer every time I feel an infection starting in my nose, throat or lungs. It keeps my colds down to a few days of minor symptoms instead of a few weeks of major ones. I've had pneumonia twice and bronchitis and asthma before that. I began to research this technique and my colds in the past few years haven't been bad at all. This process still lets the body learn how to fight the infections but it gives it some backup.

smh... That's not how that works. Hydrogen peroxide is an unstable bond.

Putting it in the air like that all you're doing is making water and oxygen. In a really expensive way.

Along with several really bad things depending on the contaminants of the air.

I gave my old nebulizer to my older neighbor. He gets really sick once a year and I can hear him coughing through the wall. I told him about 3% hydrogen peroxide. I hope he tries it especially with what could be coming our way. I now have two smaller portable units. One nebulizer and one humidifier as shown in the first post.

Get a higher power ozone air purifier. Ozone will purify your air.
