Restricted Section: Books That Burn Your Eyes Out
Harry and Ron looked under the sink where Myrtle was pointing. A small, thin book lay there. It had a shabby black cover and was as wet as everything else in the bathroom. Harry stepped forward to pick it up, but Ron suddenly flung out an arm to hold him back.
“What?” said Harry.
“Are you crazy?” said Ron. “It could be dangerous.”
“Dangerous?”said Harry, laughing. “Come off it, how could it be dangerous?”
“You’d be surprised,” said Ron, who was looking apprehensively at the book. “Some of the books the Ministry’s confiscated Dad’s told me — there was one that burned your eyes out.

Napoeleon banned "Justine" by DeSade.

I think DeSade's books, some of them, should still be banned as CP.

The fact that they aren't says a lot about our society, imo.

I like your style there high desert. Yeah, writing and all that. It does affect the people, and, a good man in power would want to curtail that. You however have read and seen every horrible thing, and thus can be a good judge, in that future.

Mostly I was just laughing as I read harry potter. Some of the fun stuff is in the books, and isn't in the films.

I suppose writing is powerful. As mentioned, some writing and or books, are most foul. Alas, the writers guild will never be netted or shackled. And, they may suffer all of them, and yet the ink, the quill, shalln't ever have their fill.

"And everyone who read Sonnets of a Sorcerer spoke in limericks for the rest of their lives."

Funny stuff. Some books can affect ya. But, probably if it's made into a movie first, it'll affect you easier. I watched the films and didn't give a shit about the books, but have been skimming them, and thought this was the best crumpet to share with glp, the idea that some words, are magic.

That's a comic book but yes. Makes you want to weep at how humanity has fallen when such garbage is celebrated.
