One of Mexico’s most active volcanoes erupts, spewing large columns of gas and rocks 1200 metres into the air. A similar image was seen with more lava and ash when it erupted again a day later.

Afaik, according to the Mayans, the eruption of Popo is the harbinger of the start of the catastrophe cycle (of course it erupts all the time, so its the timing that is important, being now around the time of the slated end of current age)
