CDC screwd up! 14 of the people they just flew to US have COVID 19!!!

Fourteen Americans who were evacuated from a cruise ship in Japan on Monday were placed in segregated areas of a chartered flight after they were found to have the new coronavirus shortly before boarding the plane to the United States, American officials said.


The passengers were among more than 300 Americans aboard a cruise ship that was been quarantined in Yokohama for more than 10 days. United States officials initially said they would not allow infected people to board the evacuation flights, but appeared to reverse that decision early Monday.

“During the evacuation process, after passengers had disembarked the ship and initiated transport to the airport, U.S. officials received notice that 14 passengers, who had been tested 2-3 days earlier, had tested positive for COVID-19,” the State Department and Department of Health and Human Services said in a joint statement, referring to the disease caused by the new coronavirus.

The 14 infected passengers were moved into a specialized containment area on the evacuation aircraft, where they were to be isolated and monitored. They had been found to be asymptomatic and “fit to fly” before the evacuation, according to the statement.

At least one flight landed on Monday morning at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, Calif. All passengers on that flight will undergo a 14-day quarantine. Those that develop symptoms or test positive will be sent to “an appropriate location for continued isolation and care,” the statement added.

The United States has 15 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus. That number will nearly double when the 14 infected passengers arrive.

So, that means the people that they are quarantining for 14 days may have it. What if it is true that incubation can be up to 24 days.

Or, what if one person in any of the quarantined areas comes down with the virus, do they then start the quarantine clock again for the ones who don't seem to have it? OF COURSE, they should - but I serious doubt they would.

Our government (Any government) cannot be trusted to do what is in our best interest either due to ulterior motives, incompetence or evilness.

You can call me paranoid but I think I am just rational. What idiots test someone for a virus 2-3 days before leaving? Why aren't they testing people on the day of departure. So, like I said, who else on the flight has it? Wonder how often they test/re-test people while in quarantine?

It wasn't a screw up that's why they had the inflight containment. Either way we need more people with the virus so we can actually study the virus. It's a good thing. There will be more evacuees with the virus. Count on it.

I'm wondering what they are doing to clean every nook and cranny of all these planes they are using to fly these people all over. If the virus lives for so long, then the next batch of passengers will be subject to being infected.

From the video, the plane and healthcare workers on the plane only wore minimal disposable paper masks.

The evac flights a few days ago was perfect. The flight team wore PAPR hoods. Superb protection.

American citizens have a right to return, but will be quarantined and treated/studied. I don't see anything wrong with CDC taking on these additional cases/test-subjects.
