Didn't look enough like a mouse this time for the conspiracy theorists to latch onto it though. They'll deliberately ignore it this time since it destroys their narrative. Quoting: Astroshill You do realize you're a mod on a fucking conspiracy website??? Doesn't mean I have to ignore blatantly wrong claims. |

It is a private company launching their own internet communications satellites with their own rocket. It's not BS. It's a fact. Just like it's a fact that the rocket landings they perform are real. Today's failed, but there are plenty of other successes they've had in past launches, even though you refuse to believe it. And no, it's not a fucking balloon either. ... Quoting: Zetetic Ben Chill out bro..I'm just saying the shit is questionable. Stop attacking everyone who questions you. There is no way to prove the things you claim. Wrong. I filmed it myself. There's nothing questionable about it. You don't know what the word "prove" means. I say you filmed balloons. Prove you didn't - gosh you are angry. Balloons don't break the sound barrier. I've tracked these boosters breaking the sound barrier prior to landing. At 6:54 after launch in my video (time code of 7:29 in the youtube video) the rocket was descending and translating at a rate of about 1.13 degrees per second as tracked by my telescope which logged the data: [link to drive.google.com (secure)] At launch the booster was about 21 pixels wide at a distance of 18.69 km from the pad. That's an angular size of 0.015941 degrees. At 7:29, it was 17.7 pixels wide. That's an angular size of about 0.013 degrees. That gives us a slant range of about 22.2 km from the telescope to the rocket at that point. An apparent angular motion of 1.12 degrees per second corresponds to a velocity of about 437 m/s. That's just in motion within the plane of my field of view, but that's above mach 1! So no, it's not a fucking balloon you idiot. What are you even doing on my thread if you won't accept basic facts? You're right bro - my bad. SpaceX is a totally legit government contractor like all the other ones. Rockets can land backwards with little wings on them and steel buildings can collapse at freefall speed. I'm sorry for ever doubting basic facts. |

Looked too low to be LEO as well. Probably a bit of ice came off one of the Merlins. Ice slides around the turbopump mainfolds and occasionally slides off, as can be frequently seen on the second stage engine camera. 19:16, 22:49 - [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] 19:14, 21:44 - [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] 26:15 - [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] 11:55 - [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] 26:23 - [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] |

Launching with the rotation of the earth to the east reduces the ground-relative velocity needed to reach orbit. |

Your linky stinky btw Link works just fine. Problem is on your end. You're probably too incompetent to operate your computer. Since the Tesla was on a one way trip with no life support that would be an immediate death sentence. I don't take kindly to death threats, and I am prepared to defend myself with lethal force. |

No biggie they said it: "remained intact so they may be able to retrieve it from the surface. And inserting the satellites in the correct orbit is the primary mission; recovering the first stage is a cost cutting measure. |
