Start educating drivers how to actually drive again, like 50 years ago. People rely on the safety features of new cars too much, the driver is the biggest part of driving safety, but we have forgotten that.

Well if you wanted to be strapped in with a 6 point harness and full face helmet, and have to climb in through the window dukes of hazard style due to 2" tubular steel cages, I'd say you would be good to go at 45mph in any scenario.

I believe those cars run on alcohol.

Full cage, racing seat, full harness, HANS device, fuel cell, halon fire system, the whole nine yards.

You'll refuse to wear it or pay for it. End of conversation.

Not a racing fan.saw the crash looked brutal. This is one of the best hospitals in florida if not the entire u.s . came in with partially torn aorta and collapsed lung dislocated hip and had me up and atom in ten days 5 steel screws and an aorta stent heavier. He crashed in the worst possible way in the best possible place. Hell be ok.

It was coolant. They use high octane racing fuel...NASCAR uses SUNOCO brand, not that it matters.

I actually used to run a car that burned alcohol.....those can be scary when there is a fire.

would be so great, get back to health, and have full use of his mind.....prayers are still needed.

Prayers for Ryan Newman that he makes a full recovery.

Saw it LIVE and I didn't think he'd survive that...

2 bad omens for Newman.

Car had the number 6 on it and Koch brothers.

They run on gasoline.

Rear gear oil and maybe some gas leaking. They use straight water for coolant, antifreeze will burn.

Fs1 is playing high quality slow motion footage.

The driver side at the roof line was absolutley crushed.

I'm thankful Newman is alive but I cannot imagine how a person could survive that.
