Anonymous Coward User ID: 76946058 United States 02/19/2020 07:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hi everyone, Quoting: Dont want to risk it 78430146 I just got some KFC (because its my birthday in 7 months) I got a big bucket of chicken(original recipe) I got a bunch of biscuits A lot of mashed patatos (sp) with extra gravy - a lot Some corn Some coleslaw.... but the coleslaw smells wierd. I've never actually had coleslaw so I dont even know whats involved in making it or the ingredients that go in it. It smells kinda like A1 sauce and bleach. Words escape me right now but thats the best description i could come up with to describe the smell. Im not a food scientists (because i couldnt afford tuition) So i dont want to assume its ok to eat, and my intuition is telling me I should investigate...I should add that last time i had KFC it tasted good - But i didnt have coleslaw. Just: Chicken and mashed potatos w extra gravy (a lot) and a dr pepper. The weird thing is that the next day i thought i really had to make a poop. I have really great control in my butt so i thought i could just hold it all day while i was at work. IVe done it many times before and have a lot of confidence. So i worked in this ladies house all day and by the end i had a fever and i was super nauseous. I still thought i had to poop though. As soon as i left her house i was sweating really bad and totally threw up in her front yard - 3 x's!! But anyway, what do coleslaw eating veterans have to say? Is that the way it supposed to smell? Safe to eat? Please advise. - thanks in advance! Eat it, if you get sick, then you know... The cabbage is what is causing the stink... |

I think i learned you could actually make yourself vomit if you hold a poop in too long. Lesson learned - belive me. When a poop feeling comes i treat it very seriously now because i dont like to throw up. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 78430146 United States 02/19/2020 08:23 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | UPDATE: I didnt eat the coleslaw when i realized there is mayo in it. I am repulsed by mayo because it 6th grade m history teacher would eat a sandwich everyday during class and there would be white stuff in the corner of his mouth. Sometimes he would take his shoes off and put his feet on the desk while eating his sandwich. He stunk up the whole classroom with his stinky feet with mayo in the corners of his mouth. Mixed with sometimes very hot days and no air conditioning.....anyway, thats why i dont like mayo. |

Cabbage is “col” in Spanish. interesting. I can't find a definition for slaw anywhere other than "coleslaw". "coleslaw" is what the American mongrel ear did to "kolbsalat," which is German for "cabbage salad." Life's a journey--pack with care. |

I fucking love coleslaw but all that soybean oil that taste so delicious screwed it all up for me. Yeah, I don’t like it. I make my cabbage salad with lemon, salt, and oil. But I like the red one. Have you ever tried savoy cabbage? It has crinkled leaves (green) and has a softer texture but still good. I like that one and usually get it if it's available. grass fed sardines |

I let my cabbage rest for a minute in hot water to make it soft and then I add lemon, salt, and oil. Yeah, I like savoy cabbage for my soups. |

Some people may add onion or seeds or whatever else moves them. The dressing has 2 vinegars (usually) and other ingredients so it has some odors you're not familiar with that may smell "off" to you. I'd say that's probably the cabbage. Personally, I think KFC has the best cole slaw I've ever tasted but I wouldn't keep it more than 3 or 4 days, especially if you don't know what the ingredients in the dressing are.
