They are saying that people who do NOT have the virus, should NOT be wearing the masks, that only health professionals such as doctors and nurses should wear them. What kind of stupid logic is that?

I applaud your profession.
But, you know you and your co-workers think they can't be harmed because of all they have been exposed to, they will, unfortunately.
I have seen that cavalier attitude many times in ERs.
The 20 year old transporter, the janitor, the clerks, the visitors, the veteran nurses, the doctors, techs. Some will ignore the protocols, it is inevitable, you know that, too.

The "official" numbers don't show that the numbers are doubling but increasing by about 2000 per day. With 75,000 cases, that is not even an r0 of 1. But the way the Chinese and other governments are acting you'd think the R0 6 or higher.

Right now we have 25 cases of the virus in the IS but almost all of those cases occurred outside of the US and they reentered the US straight into quarantine. But there have been a few mishaps that should have infected more people here, but according to Uncle Sugar that isn't happening yet.

Either way, you look at it though, we are going to get fucked hard, one way or another. I smell WWIII on the horizon. Something is definitely coming. China's economy is fucked, which is the first domino.

I expected this. But I actually didn't expect it this soon. I figured we would have the amount of time it took for Wuhan to blow up, like probably 6-10 weeks. Oh well.

Make sure you have at the bare minimum of 2 weeks supply of necessities on hand. It is ideal to have a month or more if you have the time to shop and can afford to stock up. You may not end up quarantined in your home but you don't want to have to go out shopping if you are sick with the flu or it's bad weather or god forbid they quarantine your whole city and all the stores are closed.
