how many days have you missed so far?

how many times were you late so far?

how bad is your stench?

I never missed any day of work, was a little late a couple of times.

I think i smell ok.

You're awfully demanding. You probably got promoted into management for being a plain stupid asshole.

Anyhow, my tardiness didn't cause me to get fired.

Lol you have to be trolling. But if not, being late once on probation will get them to let you go. Bet they made you work almost the entire probation period huh? They probably knew they would let you go awhile ago, they do that keep you coming in while they get your replacement squared away.

I wouldn't want to work for an asshole like you.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64178119

You wouldn't want to work for an asshole like me. I always was told if you are not 15 minutes early, you are late.

Being late if there is a real good reason has never been a problem. But most people are late because of poor planning, a poor attitude or their personal business, they felt, was more important. Having worked in management for most of 40 years, I can tell you honestly, I can count the number of times I was late on one hand. And, I worked in some pretty congested areas, or traveled a good distance.

It is showing pride in yourself to be on time, as well as respecting your job and your supervisors.

BTW I had as many as 100 people that reported to me. How could I expect them to be on time if I wasn't? Each employee is critical to the organization running smoothly, when a person shows up late there is a huge chain reaction on how operations are affected. That goes for a WalMart employee or a systems analyst at Microsoft.

I turned businesses hugely profitable. But, some things like being on time, taking pride in your work, don't lie or steal (which can be as insignificant as a roll of toilet paper taken home) yea, I am a real asshole about those things. And, you know, I never had to take a job at Walmart. So, I probably do have my head up my ass. Have a nice day.

That is great for you, however, about 10% of the population has some sort of social anxiety issues and general anxiety. This issue makes it hard for them to organize.

If an employee is where they need to be when it counts. I don't worry about it. I love it when they stay late and a lot of people with anxiety are late stay and do more so than the few minutes they were late. As an owner and manager, it is up to me to plan ahead staggard the schedule working out who I suspect will be late.

Other than that hiring training an getting to know people cost money and time. Stupid to throw the baby out with the bathwater or a few minutes late.
