They probably knew they would let you go awhile ago, they do that keep you coming in while they get your replacement squared away. |

If you can't be on time when you KNOW you're on probation, then they rightly judged you as damaged goods. You really can't blame them for firing you. You would throw somebody away for being late over months of work? I wouldn't want to work for an asshole like you. You wouldn't want to work for an asshole like me. I always was told if you are not 15 minutes early, you are late. Being late if there is a real good reason has never been a problem. But most people are late because of poor planning, a poor attitude or their personal business, they felt, was more important. Having worked in management for most of 40 years, I can tell you honestly, I can count the number of times I was late on one hand. And, I worked in some pretty congested areas, or traveled a good distance. It is showing pride in yourself to be on time, as well as respecting your job and your supervisors. BTW I had as many as 100 people that reported to me. How could I expect them to be on time if I wasn't? Each employee is critical to the organization running smoothly, when a person shows up late there is a huge chain reaction on how operations are affected. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64178119 Have some sympathy for a fellow GLPer. Ask a question if you're inclined. My wife works at Walmart, 6 years, she tells me everyday that they fire someone. At first they harassed people so much trying to get them to quit, but now they are on a firing spree. They are trying to go full auto with machines. I was definitely harassed to an intolerable extent on the job but i don't think it had to with automation. Sounds like they did a good job of convincing you that it was your fault. |

That goes for a WalMart employee or a systems analyst at Microsoft. That is great for you, however, about 10% of the population has some sort of social anxiety issues and general anxiety. This issue makes it hard for them to organize. If an employee is where they need to be when it counts. I don't worry about it. I love it when they stay late and a lot of people with anxiety are late stay and do more so than the few minutes they were late. As an owner and manager, it is up to me to plan ahead staggard the schedule working out who I suspect will be late. Other than that hiring training an getting to know people cost money and time. Stupid to throw the baby out with the bathwater or a few minutes late. |
