As a public service- If you want to help a kid like this, don't try to rip the dog off her, his teeth will only tear her up worse. Get the bastard by both hind legs, spread them to the full extent of your reach til the hips come out of the sockets or break. It will let go and the crippled sumbitch is finished. Watch for the owner to appear, they are usually chasing the dumbass dog.

That's like saying 'blame the owner for a Husky being able to pull really well' ... Pitbulls were bred to kill and they do just that... even to really 'good' owners, they turn on them out of nowhere. They should not be pets.

What injuries did the child get? Was it her face or neck?

I hope the dog was found and put down. Then the owner should have a huge fine and cover all expenses for that family including the mental trauma of everyone.

pitbulls are bred to not let go once they clamp.

i always trained the dogs not to bite by just pushing my hand into their mouth everytime they loosen to readjust the bite.

this makes them confused. they are completely wired to prevent you from pulling away not pushing deeper into their mouth.

they can't bite with the molars, they have to completely release

Pit bulls are ghetto dogs, extremely ugly. I've been walking down a country dirt road and had two of them run at me full speed with their owner behind them yelling at them to stop. We had bear spray and a hiking tool with a sharp point on the end, but those dogs just started wagging their tails and licking us. You never know. It was horrifying.
