Labs should be worked/walked a lot... so much energy. Quoting: BFD He goes for a hike every day. (about 1 mile) He is supposed to be on "rest" because of the suspected growing pains. Keep in mind these are not mild pains, he's on pain medication and muscle relaxers. These are very painful. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78446299 Me too. I've had lyme disease for many years. However, I follow the salt/c protocol and am able to keep flare ups at bay. I live in southeastern PA, one of the worst areas of the country for lyme, and average about 30 bites per year. |

I wouldn't have thought it could get that bad so quickly but maybe the immune system is super-active because of the age. Good luck with your pup! |

User ID: 76863067 United States 02/21/2020 09:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | First of all, switch vets!!! My dog had lyme 4 times, live in New England. Now they tried all that with me mega thousand dollar MRIs & X- ray. I said NO! I will wait for blood tests! It was a dedicated plan with antibiotics & follow up tests but worked everytime. He had the traveling in the legs but never seizures cuz he got treated immediately! But he lost something, his edge and became clingy to me & my boys didn't like that cuz he was "The wolf" now in his old age he has neurological issues in his legs and I always wonder if the lyme helped that along. My advice is dont put that tic poison on your dog cuz that is worse; poison straight to their immune system. If you can get to Canada & find a biomeridian specialist, they can cure your dog with electro magnetic energy, they banned it in US on animals & people (of course) but in Canada you can get it done on dogs. |

House animals will break your bank if you treat them like children, I have found they are pretty resilient in the grand scheme of things. We currently have a 12 year old beagle that has some tumors here and there, but we know that she has already lived the life span of the breed.....so we let is ride. We love her but know her time is short. |

His blood line has been going for 40 years and I got my last lab from him, who lived to 13 years old. The plan was to show him, but with these issues, that's been put on the back burner. First and foremost though, he was supposed to be a water dog (duck hunting) because he's an English lab with a double coat. But he can't do water retrieves if he has seizures. |
