Yep. All started with Clinton and Nafta and then letting China in the WTO. Ross Perot warned about that HUGE SUCKING SOUND of jobs leaving, but nobody listened.
And FYI for those that don't know, he was with the Reform Party which is the party Trump tried his first run with.
I'm glad Trump is the President to help us through this time. He has foresight. Something sorely lacking in the Dem and R party.

Everything is Just In Time from the cheapest source. To save a penny.

A rickety Rube Foldberg device with Single Points of Failure all along the line. To save a penny.

A whole lot of rich people are going to go bankrupt and see their golden geese die. To save a penny.

Single points of failure everywhere. No redundancies. No inventories. No backups. No alternate sources. No flexibilities.

To save a penny.

The same bullshit story can be said about any industry. Foundries, steel mills, refineries, plating processes, etc.

Any industry can run clean, it just costs a bit more. The reason those industries and others have been outsourced is because labor costs are a fraction of ours and the govts don't give a shit about running dirty as long as they get paid.

Not only that but R&D, patents and proprietary Manufacturing processes of the last 20 years or so are owned or co-owned by China. Most newer manufacturing we don't know how or are locked out by patents. A long term plan to destroy America. China was green lighted by the globalists. Well placed money in our government by way of satanic Psychopaths helped them. This is the internal war Trump is fighting. I believe the empire struck back. Stock up on stuff you need because you might not be able to buy it in the near future. Even if something says made in Mexico or Germany, that doesn't mean everything that went into making it comes from that country. Anything from packaging to ingredients to machine parts for the machine that makes the product could come from China.

I am in the flooring industry. a manufactures rep. I sell flooring to people who sell flooring

SPC Floating Rigid Core Hardsurfaces is the hottest product in the market, fake waterproof wood look laminate basically.
We have 11 Million Dollars in inventory, company emailed this week that any orders over 3 pallets would be questioned, no truckload orders will be filled from inventory,
Said 60% of the Chinese workforce was out, and they expect it back to 100% next week ( LMFAO Not going to Happen ) but we lost 3-4 weeks of production due to the extended Chinese New Year / CoronaV -
Here is the bad, The pellet Carpet fibers are extruded from comes from China too, its a bi-product of oil. There will be repercussions in all avenues of every segment of every market do to this and we dont even see an end in sight. Be prepared to make it through some trying times. Luxury items will be 1st place to tighten the old belt.

What about the advent of 3D printing and rapid prototyping?

I can't imagine that - in 2020 - a machine part can't be 3D scanned and machined here in the USA pretty damn quickly.

Yes, there will be a production lag, but everyone makes it sound like China is producing irreplaceable, one-of-a-kind machined parts.

It's like:
All Chinese parts a cheap crap!

That's why the machine broke down. Cheap made in China parts! Just because you can only get something that is made in China doesn't mean we think it is a great product. It is in some cases no choice at all when it comes to some things. Where are 3D printers made? Let me guess Made in China or parts of it is. What about the material used to make the 3D items. Is it made in China as well. Do you see where I am going with this. China seems to be in the supply chain of a lot of things whether we realize it or not.

Even before the Wuhan Virus, I saw the US as being like the proverbial frog being slowly boiled alive.

The crap of the New World Order, pay-to-play, anti-Brexit, anti-MAGA and greedy, idiotic, shortsighted "How dare you!" liberalism in general, has turned too many people into SJW-loving zombies.

If there's any silver lining out of an epidemic, it hopefully will be more people stopping with the bullshit of "Hope and Change," "I'm With Her" and "How Dare You!"

And the various versions of the "ka-ching" of Clinton-foundation-type scams.

Another doom looming is pharmaceuticals...

It will be a matter of weeks before people will be unable to get prescriptions filled.

Insulin.
Blood pressure meds.
anti-depressants.
anti-psychotics.
antibiotics.
penicillin.
SSRI's

Apparently, in the US alone, there are well over 150,000,000 people on prescription meds.

...I'm sure it will be fine.
