A couple of days ago in California in one grocery store I saw a bunch of people with carts full of toilet paper and water and canned foods. One woman had about 100 cans in her cart. I've been slowly prepping for a month and have been going to the store often and this is the first time I've noticed people doing this. The masses are starting to catch on. Quoting: Blue_Triquetra I had the same thing happen at Walmart when I purchased bleach. Like rubbing alcohol, bleach kills the Corona Virus, but the alcohol must be 70 percent. I think it is very suspicious that we both had manager overrides. Mine happened about 2 weeks ago, when I purchased disinfecting bleach. A family member of mine works at Costco and checked the warehouse stock of rubbing alcohol and found that there was none available to ship to stores. This was a couple weeks ago. Costco has a number of warehouses so it could just be the one warehouse without stock and they may have stock again now - but it's not something that is usually out of stock so it was considered odd to have low stock. Mine did not flag in the system when I purchased some, and the store I was shopping at still had stock a few weeks ago. Not sure about now. Cashiers don't exist anymore. And BS, self checkout at Costco doesn't exist, at least in the South. In Canada here, and many Costco locations have self checkouts. They're fairly new though, just going in in the last few months. Maybe the most I was purchasing was canned food and dried foods. Then during check out, when I swiped my rubbing alcohol, the self check out froze and required manager override. As the technician came over to me to call for a manager, he talked to me for a minute saying this has been put into place by corporate. As It turns out that they had Received orders to freeze transactions when the system detects hoarding to avoid clearing the shelves. Interesting. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78365528 Rubbing alcohol... hmmm. Looks like that's on my list to get on Monday. Or maybe I'll get another bottle of vodka. Rubbing alcohol is typically a mixture of isopropyl and ethyl alcohols. And what the fuk does THAT have to do with the Republic of Texas?!?! GO VODKA! |

People buy a lot of shit on Saturdays especially your local third-worlders who often buy up sale shit and then resell it at their stinky little family store or gas stations. I mean don't even TRY to go to Sam's Club or Costco or this new-fangled copycat "BJ's" on a Saturday..good God! Guess you didn't catch the part where o said we've seen this lady every Saturday for YEARS, at the same store, and she mentioned that it was highly unusual. Here's your $3.50. All wuflu related subjects have been reassessed cost wise and deemed to be ¥0.50. I think it’s due to turd worlders contributing and also China rather than King Soros is funding |

Although something I have noticed, even caught it today a bit when we were at the mall, is that stores that were normally so packed with crap that they are hard to walk though seem less packed, if that makes sense. To someone who isn't observant, they probably wouldn't know anything is different. And not like things have been cleaned off the shelves or anything - just like more space between shelves. I noticed it at Fry's, and later at Barnes and Noble and Kohl's too. Could be totally unrelated, but it was noticeable to me. |

Quoting: Blue_Triquetra It came up because a lady 2 people ahead of us had a huge cart full, and I mentioned it. Our cashier said "yeah, it's been like that this morning, people stocking up like it's the end of the world or something." I mentioned "maybe it's the Coronavirus," and she said she didn't know about that. Just thought it was interesting, and I'd pass it on. We see her every Saturday morning for years now, she's never said anything like that before. I noticed the exact same thing today. Everyone was hoarding multiples. |

Quoting: Sodbuster I have been prepping since 1999 and I just bought another 100 pounds of beans and oats today. Monday I will hit Costco for a couple of 25# bags of rice and more cases of pasta and a few gallons of olive oil. Just ordered $100 worth of White Cloud toilet paper from WalMart online. Now that we know IT is actually here, it seems stupid to have $2,000 worth of credit left on my credit card. This is serious-as-a-heart-attack level doom, and God knows how many relatives might show up in my Idaho home. I am turning a piece of plastic into life giving food. That’s and interesting thought that I hadn’t considered. I’ve got about $20K of credit limit available. And I had been considering how much silver I’m willing to sell. I guess I don’t need to sell any silver after all. Winter is Coming. |

Got 2 for 11.00 and change. I got them for sawdust, they are N95. Out of curiosity, I went to check them and the price was 51.00 for one mask, same brand. This was a few days ago. I had bought refills and they had gone from 12.00 for 20 to almost 30.00. Now they are all out of stock and no idea when more comes. That was Amazon. I've been prepping by making trips to the store and buying online. I bought 2 cans of 48 oz. folger's coffee last night on Amazon, it was 6.76 per can. Now they are out of it in prime pantry and all the other cans were more than 10.00 each. The price at Walmart online is the same now. I couldn't find anything less than 10.00 per can of 48 oz. except the Great Value brand and that was almost 8.00 per can of 48 oz. Dog food I bought last week has gone up 4.00 per 20lb bag on Amazon and online Walmart is the same. Many, many items I buy online at Walmart are out of stock tonight. I've been prepping for awhile now and am just noticing this happening in the past week or so. Better get your coffee in order, that's looking pretty doomy. |

It may age in peculiar ways, like a fine wine, to the point where you will wish you had forgotten more. Quoting: The Starbuckian The only thing that changed flavor was the corn chips cooked in sunflower oil. They took on a flavor reminiscent of ranch dressing, and never got any worse. If you could get past the first handful, they would start to taste pretty good. Not even the chickens would eat them. And the mice stayed out of them as well. Haha, you like the aged foods. Limberger cheese and stale cookies are good, too. That beer....not sure I would consume it, it'll be skunked for sure. I found a can of beer in the garage once, the best by date was older than my #1 daughter (8 years old at the time). Cracked it open and immediately poured it down the drain and opened the window for ventilation.
