All they have to do is call the cops that you're HORDING. Even if you bought your preps a few years earlier instead of going on that high-dollar vacation, or buying cool, new vehicles, all brand new clothes and other adult toys.

You mistake was that YOU TOLD ANYONE ABOUT YOUR PREPS. Family are the worst people to tell, because they will always be more critical of you (especially if your the Black Sheep that thinks outside the box).

Your only chance-MOVE! Or, let them in and share. Otherwise the cops will break down your door, shoot you and steal all your supplies. Watched it happen in another country.

I have a sign on my door that says: Restricted Area, Do Not Enter.

I've have told my neighbors that they cannot help themselves to my water or anything in my yard. I have to remind them again and again.

Stand your ground. Be serious, no joking. You don't have to be mean, just firm and clear and consistent.

Tell them you are already possibly imfected and ordered under quarantine. Cough convincingly. Hang an looking medical hazard sign on your door.

Ask they what service they are willing to do in exchange for some of your preps? How many hours are they willing to clean? What very valued possession are they willing to exchange for some supplies?

If they asked you for a loan of $500 would you give it to them? Stay away from takers. Givers offer you goods or services in exchange.

If it comes to it I am going trash the front of the house.
Throw some plants and garbage around.
Maybe break a window or two.
Make it look like it has been already ransacked.

The 2 workable suggestions so far is say I'm infected or move.

I don't think you guys appreciate how desperate people can get when watching their own children go hungry...They wont be rational!

There will be no "explaining" anything to them.

1> if your plan is to give them something and keep the good stuff,u fail. giving them anything once obligates u to give again. they will return when they run out. this is a mistake. if u have spare stuff today,u will have tomorrow. it is like enabling a druggy. u helped them,so they learned u will help them always. time to rethink this plan.

2> yeah it is hard especially if it is close family- mom,dad, sister,brother,kids. this u should figure out before the time comes. do u want them to come to your place? then call them and invite them. u know how they are, so plan accordingly. get extra stock. prep like they are part of the household.

if u do not want them to come to your place, as others have pointed out do not tell them anything. start distancing from them. less and less social conatact so they know less of what u are doing.hopefully,they will forget u and go to a friend.

3> HELP THOSE WHO CAN AND WILL HELP U. if they are freeloaders now,they will b lazy later too.if they are the type to cut wood,hunt,have gardening skills,or old enuf to have the knowledge of surving the great depression, help these ppl. they will b assetts to have. they will help keep u alive. do not foget the elders with knowledge, their experiences will b worth more than books.

set rules and tell ppl. do not asume theyknow. many will be shocked and not know what to do. they will need to be told.

4> quarantine anyone who shows up. once u lock down and start wearing yopur masks, letting anyone inside your home could contaminate it. u just wasted all the preps u used b4 that. automatic quarantine minimum 30 days. use your garage,shed,camper,tents if down south. treat them as u would an infected person until they prove they are not.

I know! But this was over 20 years ago and I had no idea the reaction I was going to get from them.

Well, if you tell them no and send them away, depending on how you get them to leave they're going to come back. And they're probably coming back with more people and weapons. Sorry to say, but there is only one way to deal with this scenario.

I am five, five, and female. Back in the early 80's, I got down to 69 pounds. I looked like some skeleton from Africa. I am white.

I went to the food stamp office and was about laughed out of the office. I was told, I am white go get a JOB (by fat blacks) ! I was starving, literally.

I know true hunger. If I ever go there again, watch out. MF'ers, I am prepped and trained. I went in the Army a few years later (barely made the minimum weight), was the 6th female to pass EOD school. When I went to PLDC, led my squad and disabled all trips. Do not fuck with me. I know my shit.

I am near 57 now and a bit overweight. I still got my mind and talents. Bring it mother fuckers. Your last mistake is to think I am a liberal and untalented.

My local grocery had a sale on canned pork and beans, 28 cents a can. I bought two cases as give away, I would have to be literally starving to put that in my mouth and swallow it, yuk. I also have much cheap Costco rice and 25# bags of cheap beans to parcel out. For under fifty dollars I am set up to not have to turn away a neighbor. It buys some time, anyway.

One other thing is I talked with my next door neighbor & asked if the SHTF can I park my truck in your back yard (my yard is fenced)...he said no problem.

So with no truck in the driveway & I don't answer the door...they may think I'm not home.

Yet that may also entice somebody to try to break in & then I'd have to shoot them.

You should have a garden too..

If you plan it right, you will only need to use one round or so.. lol

I'm older but pretty well trained and armed myself. Got tired of worrying about my personal safety.... May you never go hungry again.

Oh, I do. I am also friends with a couple that have hundreds of acres in wheat each year, and most of the locals are serious hunters. Huge clean river runs right through town. I picked northern Idaho on purpose.
