Very interesting, I came across something similar about the original white inhabitants of the Canaries when looking into stuff around the Oera Linda and the Frisians (it might in fact have been something from Robert S. himself that mentions this).

I also heard from a reliable source, though I have not researched it myself, of a similar case in Tasmania, the British or Dutch or something found a population of white skinned people living there, and proceeded to exterminate them.

What grates me is not the fact that we don't know our history, thats ok.

What gets me is that there seems to be a dedicated attempt to hide many aspects, so I ask why?

I would have no problem with them teaching "evolution , out of africa, dinosaur etc etc" if they also said "but we dont know because look odd exception, alternate theory, proof of other stuff etc"
