It's that LGBTQ+ shit again....

I had two swimming cats...one, we’d go sailing and frequently,
had to fetch the cat, “Charlie Brown”, who did not appreciate
being left behind, so he would jump in and start swimming out
to us.

The other cat, Cadillac, we had to lock out of the bathroom
when bathing, as she would jump right in with whoever was
trying to bathe.

But the ears don't look sooo happy....

I knew cats that played with their paws in water.
In a sink where they knew how to turn on the tap.
Or even in the shower.
But swimming? No, never.

My cat once fell into the bathtub, but had no interest in remaining and swimming...:-))))))
And once he tried to catch fish in a neighbour's garden lake...we heard a strange noise..and along came the dripping cat...totally unhappy.

We've always owned a pool (until my divorce and move to the mountains in a neighborhood where they are not allowed). One of the first things I always did was throw my dogs/cats into the pool and point them to the stairs so they would know how to get out if they ever fell in later. There is nothing worse than a panicked animal drowning in a pool.

Good idea, under supervision. Probably kinda a hysterical exercise.

if that were the case, you would have seen the cats make a bee-line directly towards the nearest human, and leave a gory claw-trail of shredded flesh up the leg, towards the groin, with shrieks of agony heard for miles.

these cats were clearly enjoying themselves. one even swam right through a man's legs without the slightest deviation in trajectory
