from my recent sinus infection experience, it was extremely discomforting to lay down prone for 10 days, it would put me into cryptic pain and seize up all raspatory function, I remained standing for the majority and when forced to my knees, sitting, but became uncomfortable rapidly, for the few winks was but a wash of unrelenting pain spikes, that 20 mins you awaken in mental agony and know it was straight pain right through the mini-sleep cycle.

But from my experience laying flat was not what I recommend for what I was going through, elevate the torso at least if not see if you can suspend them somehow so they aren't laying so flat, but
i got swollen feet and excess fluids from it in my legs that I wished to get me feet elevated most of the time, and that alone can be a drag on your body when your organs are forced to deal with the circulation of excess fluids in your appendages with no where to go but re absorption

2 months after the ordeal im fucked, worn out and mmy legs hurt like too much hydraulic fluid in the muscles.

I had to stay hydrated constantly, could hardly smoke or drink coffee/tea, mostly only water and vitamins.
More water than I thought safe to flush through me, but there was no way around it, and get good spring water (suggestion only) cause tap water is harsh

also I cranked the humidity up, i know hospitals are dry, but I had to crank the humidity up as high as possible, my big regret being to run the hot shower and breathe in the chlorine vapor is dangerous if there's sulfurous particulate in the air as it turns chlorine into chlorine gas or something, likely makes acid that burns your immune defences

I lived, got through it alone but for a round of anti-biotics for 5 days out of 30, that may or may not have helped, (shits) while all other attempts were practically futile including no way to stop the pain with asprin/asa/tylenol or weed or flu-sinus pills

I dripped boiling water on my sock, cause humidity made it have extra moisture, fooled me good, dripped onto my sock, and began to burn while I had the pot in my hand and the dripping lid in the other, by the time I got my sock off there was a burn hole. And I did a native dance and spoke in tongues I never heard before or understand for awhile, but as it was after, a burn bad enough to leave a scab for three weeks later, the pain disappeared under the pain of the sinus infection in less than 10 mins, I couldn't feel it. And I also want to adjust my assessment of the pain and agony scale of my sinus infection to a high-five out of ten parabolically speaking in terms of how bad it can get, but my experience at ten is brief and not lasting torment like the sinus pain.
