Re: Ohio: COVID-19 Coronavirus
Had Dr. this morning for blood work and couple shots (kidney issues) this is a monthly thing. However they have been doing the screening upon arrival at Dr. office, temp. was 99.7 when arriving, around 30mins later temp was 102.1. Head nurse tells me anyone over 103.0 is sent to get tested. She asked that I temp check several more times till late afternoon if goes up I need to call her to get scheduled test. Until then Im at work and feel fine. banana2

Hope everything works out!

I was at urgent care last week, had 103 fever (UTI) asked if they were testing for corona, was told we were in a low risk location, and unless I had respiratory issues they would not test. If a test were in order, it would take some minor hassle through the state health dept. to get one

I then asked about antibody testing since I am pretty sure i had it in January. They knew nothing about it

Maybe because recover is not the correct term. Why won't the military take you if you had the virus ? That might be what we are looking at.

I'm unsure as to what you're implying. However, it's common for the medical professionals to keep track of....Number of tested, number of positives (cases), number hospitalized, number in ICU, number of deaths, AND number of treated cases that recovered (went home from the hospital). All of these together can provide a pretty good picture of the severity of the outbreak, but any one or two alone are fairly useless.
The more I know, the crazier I appear to be.

I am implying maybe there is no such thing as recovery from this virus. Kinda like you live with HIV/AIDS, you don't recover. But yes the numbers would be nice.

I am not liking the trending info. All going up in numbers. We have barely opened and numbers are getting worse it seems. Like everything Covid. We will see in 2 weeks.

Dewine might have slipped up trying to open up under pressure . Hopefully I am wrong and the numbers drop.

We all understand that the stated purpose of the lockdown was to flatten the curve, right? It was never intended to eliminate the virus. So, it stands to reason that upon reopening, cases and deaths will increase again. Doesn't matter if we reopen in May or September. It's simply postponing the inevitable.

They didn't even wait for the FDA 2 week decline. We have had a spike in the last week even before most things open. However you may be right. How do you think Ohio is doing? we better or worse off than other states?

I have seen several threads here debating how to measure better and worse; my personal opinion is that there really is no way to measure. That said, with 127 deaths per million Ohio ranks 33rd in the Country. New York and New Jersey rank 49th and 50th with over 1,000 deaths per million.

7 States had light or no lockdowns. All 7 have fewer deaths per million than Ohio. Wyoming is tied for 1st with 12 deaths per million.

I think it's fairly obvious that the worst situations occur in locations with high population densities. Even in Ohio the most deaths have occurred in Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati. There are rural areas of the State that have not experienced a single death.

In my opinion it would have been much better for DeWine to have allowed a County by County solution.
The more I know, the crazier I appear to be.

Because the numbers are kids. They aren't daily numbers of what happened in the past 24 hours, they are reports that have been sent in in the past 24. They can go back as far as they want. A death in February might be tomorrow's number.

Also, we are officially at January 3rd for our earliest case and they are about to announce a December. Remember when all the schools were closed at the end of January because there were so many illnesses? Yeah...we already peaked.

I sure hope so. You are right about the schools and how early it came here. I am worried about getting it: i have already had a toxic exposure that left my brain messed up by mefloquine another anti malarial and wonder what more quinine from HCQ would do to me. I am disabled and my brain is fucked along with a whole host of other problems. I also worry about my parents in their late 60's. I hope the numbers do go down. We have had over 3000 cases in my county. So it is out there.

cool, much to many people at all these places without distancing. at least in cleveland if you look at the reports. this is a good test to see what Herd Immunity we have or if the bug has weakened. If not we are in some shit
