Here in the Netherlands when youre sick you simply stay home and get better? does it not work like that in america? in the sense do people with a contract not get to be sick while still getting paid?

Op, if you do suspect that you have this "virus", it's only fair and the right thing to do, to stay at home so you don't infect anyone else... the infection rate is apparently quite high and the odds are, you'll pass it around your whole workplace within a day...

Maybe you could request to do your work at home? Online? ... I'm sure there is a solution...

I have been trying to find out what happens in china to those utility bills and evictions/ foreclosures and what the rule would be here.There does not seem to be anything in place to protect this. I see videos of people getting food dropped off like uber eats. Who can afford to do that even once a day not working.I don't have a McDonald's on mine so its all $14 burgers and I have kids. I've prepped lately but two things have happened.One' I did mock run in the Fl woods bug out spot I had...I found fresh panther tracks , two sizes of bears and you can already hear the gators.I realized I am too old for this, we would not last a week.And I am not average. Second thing, Now I gotta move because costco left my load out front all day while I was at work. And even the local sheriff joked to me about coming to my house during a hurricane. Now I'm scrambling to find a place to put it all and stay too. I cant turn all these people away they know that. It has to be out of sight out of mind.I don't want to live this way though.

Let this be a wake up call, OP. I’ve been in your position before, sick at a new job with no sick time. Use this to light a fire under your ass.

You need a career that can get you above the poverty line and a location that is cheap enough that you can live below your means. Do you want to be 70 years old and still working? You need a plan.

Maybe you need a temporary job that pays well, like call center work, maybe you need trade school. I don’t know your aptitudes or your circumstances. Make sure you get yourself into a better position.

I often get initial symptoms during cold/flu seasons, but thankfully am able to fend off the full blown effects. Usually this lasts a day or so. I think this is because I eat very healthy, also do basic stuff like staying hydrated (water) and get out daily and get sun exposure (vitamin D3) and exercise. This has been the case for the last 20+ years and I think I've had just two or three full blown colds in that time.. no flu.

Almost everybody goes to work sick. The virus is already out there and no way to contain it. Just don’t over do it and take vitamin c. Go to sleep as soon as you can when you get home.
