I m very surprised Iran would have such a high rate unless there is a large population of Chinese workers / advisors in and out of Iran.

Here in the U S we have very few cases and when you think about the open society and popular destination we are you would think we would have the high occurrence rates but dont.

Iran number are even more worthless than chinese numbers.

Using non chinese and iranian stats, the death rate is well below 1%.

They're not revealing ages or if they had underlying illnesses. They're calling it the coronavirus. How do we know if it's not the common flu? 16,000 people in the USA have already died from the common flu this season (2019-2020 flu season). In fact, the numbers are low compared to past years.

The US is not safe, but as things roll out, our response will result in mortality in the 1 to 2% range of those infected. Right now there are numerous areas within the US who are self quarantined.

It will be contained only if we roll out hundreds of thousands of testing kits. Along with folks following the suggestions of frequent hand washing and not touching your face, and the eventual development of a vaccine we can get passed this with less deaths than the flu.

People are panicking which, of course, is the worst response.
