If I have an orange with three shares, and I sell two for a dollar but the last share for 5 dollars, the market value for the orange would be $15! Not $7.

So if the orange gets rotten and the only price the bag holders can get $0.50, now the market value is $1.50.

Magically, $7 dollars became $15 and then $1.50.

Meanwhile, the $7.00 invested was converted by me into tinned chili. So the money in is not always (or even normally, in the big picture) returned.

The money didn’t disappear

It’s just been reallocated

First by inflation then by deflation

once the market plateaus and this Covid BS subsides, I will consider it a buy signal as will many others and I predict that by election day, the market will be back at all time highs again. No crystal ball, just my gut feeling..old saying sell when there's a party, buy when there is blood in the street. When the street is full of blood, but the slaughter subsides, time to buy
