So no, an area can have diagnosed covid cases with out having the test kit.

Out in the area where I live, this weekend is the St Pat's parade in Rolla.

At this point it doesn't matter if you think it's real or fake. It doesn't matter if it is in reality real or fake. What matters now, and they're really starting to tell us without directly telling us, is we're gonna be locked the fuck down for 4-8 weeks.

We're talking everything closed, not getting tax returns, no movies, no sporting events, no concerts, no meetings, no paychecks, nothing. It's all going to be paused for 4-8 weeks.

Get your shit together. If you don't have enough food / supplies / money for 4-8 weeks of total isolation for your household, I'd start working on that TODAY. A little bit now can go a long long way.

I was pretty amazed at some of my friends facebook photos from Walmart and Samsclub in Kansas City area yesterday. Entire shelves empty and there is just a single case in the area with the 40 something year old patient in University of Kansas Hospital. I have family that works there and been able to get a little inside scoop.

Real quiet here in central Missouri. Took someone to the doctor and no one was coughing at all. Not once.

What general part of the state are you in? Fellow Missourian here.

More worried about staph right now. Time of the year now.

Watching morning news this am and they're talking about the big 12 conference coming to KC. All like, well...no cases in KC it's all fine. Ya, til you bring it in with all the people coming in this weekend. Common sense, can we please find some? In the mean time I hear cruises to Italy are really cheap right now...YOLO.

I know first hand FACT that both the KC and STL news organizations, ALL of them, are complicit in covering up major news that may be detrimental to their local economies.

Most recent examples are of KC denying any issue with coronavirus until the Super Bowl and subsequent parties were over, and STL news downplaying the Ferguson riots as they were literally burning the city down and dragging people out of their vehicles on the interstates.

News in both places: How bout them Chiefs, how bout them Blues, how bout them Cards, how bout them Royals? Oh, yeah: Orange man bad.

Went through Moberly this morning. Walmart TOTALLY out of toilet paper. However, the Dollar General literally next door had plenty, as does my local DG. Guess only the folks who are "too good" for Dollar General are going to go without.

When I got to the frozen foods section, it was like... oh f*ck, it's the apocalypse. Totally empty. But it wasn't. The cooler was down and the food was in the back.

Thankin' God I live at the back end of a tiny little town if even a lazy burg like Moberly is in panic mode.

I don't understand why everyone is buying so much TP. I mean, aren't there more important things to worry about if you really think it's going to get that bad? Maybe most people just have more $$ than I do, but I have to prioritize and the just in case medicine part adds up quick. I'd rather be able to treat symptoms if we actually get sick than have 5 years worth of TP.

I have vitamin C and mucus relief, plus sinus pills. Always had them too.

I get a 12 pack of TP, lasts me forever. Almost 3 months easy.

I buy a lot of cheap square napkins, 500 for 3 bucks like twice month though. For table, coasters, cooking, etc...

my little bitty Walmart here in SO Central MO is out of paper products as well as all bleach and Lysol related cleaning products (I just got back, had to build my chocolate supply)
This much I can say the highway is busy the last week or so

My local (truly local) pharmacy had 8 oz pump bottles of hand sanitizer on the counter for $9 a bottle (only 1 to a customer). Had to laugh and share the recipe. I was there picking up a package (inside of which was a 1-gallon bottle of aloe gel).
