Poncho's Place :-)

My dad loved his great dane named poncho...….he was jet black from head to toe...

Dad was actually a cat hater (mum bought one home first, I remember the day as a little kid)...to hear him tell, poncho would have killed anything that tried to harm our 'space/unit/family'...

On one of dads jobs once out past Ipswich, a great dane, black as night, with his mate, cornered me on the landing of that handrail dad had erected for his customers..
This one had a head as broad as a dinner plate.

His whiskers poked through my shirt as he sniffed around my solar-plexus without lifting his head, I couldn't move, and couldn't remember dads stories about me climbing all over this kind of mountain like dog flesh, as a baby...

Dads...probably was, I don't remember...)he says he was very protective of the drooling baby, I have never seen photos and wonder if my mum 'lost them')
the one that bailed me up real quiet like, on Dads job site.....years later..
