In 2015, my daughter and I were in Paris for her 10th birthday. We took a nighttime river cruise. It was filled with international tourists, notably a large Italian group on the upper deck with us. We passed a large band on the bank who was playing YMCA. The Italians sang their hearts out and did the motions on the "YMCA" part, but just laughed and mumbled along with every single other word (because they didn't know the words at all, not one). My daughter and I chuckled and proudly sang all the words, because, you know... Americans. LOL It's one of those songs known worldwide, but they only knew the four letters. It was cute. OK, on second thought, it's not that funny of a story.  Several years ago my brother met up with a friend he hadn't seen in awhile. The friend was like "your not going to believe this but my brother is now a member of the band YMCA", the leather guy I think. The funny part is that the guy in the band is a super conservative Trump supporter. Imagine that... a leather-clad conservative Village Person. I like it!
