I was surprised that yesterday Brazil had 55K new cases. This pandemic is not slowing down at all.

Internationally it is becoming worse.


At the local level here in CA and in my county it is still bad.


It is possible the US could reach new highs again though soon.

Yesterday in my county, San Bernardino, we had more new cases yesterday than on any previous day.

Updates from a Dallas ICU: we are completely full with COVID patients. Our ER is trying to send us 3 more. We are running out of good PPE and having to use shitty backups. The other ICUs are trying to take our AM staffing because they are also full.

Two months ago, Trump and Birx were saying about 60K Americans would die from coronavirus.

We're now poised to pass 120K dead by end of the day, with infections surging back up toward April peak.

The 120K mark was surpassed a couple of days ago already, and that is ony considering the official data. Excess deaths might add at least 20K more deaths to the count, or as much as 60K,if you count all excess deaths.

As I've said before, I am going with the more cautious Johns Hopkins site.

I think there is no question now -- except among the hoaxtards -- that we have passed the 120,000 mark...sadly.
