A D R O I T 1
(OP) User ID: 75181519 United States 03/03/2020 07:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | When I was 12, Stand Tall was this enormously huge hit song all over America and the entire world! I had a weekend/all summer job already, got my working papers at 12, and saved up for a STEREO, a must for all teenagers then. On my 13th birthday, my parents topped off the price of a BRAND NEW MARANTZ STEREO RECEIVER (I had been saving all my money up for);, A TECHNICS TURNTABLE, CASSETTE DECK AND BOSE 'BRAVURA' 250 WATT LOUDSPEAKERS. When I hooked everything up and turned on the power, THIS SONG was playing on Phila. FM radio. It was one of those huge smash hit songs then, UBIQUITOUS, everywhere you went, on tv and radio, everywhere, this song and a few others were invariably playing. Don't know why I thought of it now. A meaning, perhaps? Maybe we should all just STAND TALL Throughout this latest 'crisis?' It's a thought. Haven't heard this song in about 30 or more years. I don't think they play it anywhere anymore. That's all. All is not lost from identity In the end When SOURCE is met |
A D R O I T 1
(OP) User ID: 75181519 United States 03/03/2020 07:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This was (again, the term UBIQUITOUS comes to mind) MASSIVE HIT SONG WORLDWIDE the year earlier, 1975, among others. Morris Albert, "FEELINGS." Anyone else remember? It hit like #1 at one point and stayed on the top hit charts for like 3 MASSIVE YEARS! Quite an accomplishment then. And it was "adult contemporary," as we called it then. All is not lost from identity In the end When SOURCE is met |

My fav is still infinities. I still have a pair of old Infinities that I rebuilt. Just picked up two vintage Boston Acoustics tower loudspeakers. Just rebuilt. Damn nice sound as well. Put them in the shop with a huge yamaha amp. Now I just need an old leather sofa. different days now. 95% of music today is a direct downer. Many are getting tired of the shit music. and yah, Stand Tall. I was told those exact words while praying/meditating about a year ago. Thanks for the reminder. Caution: Angels Landing |

Was a good song tho (really) He saw Eric Carmen do it with the Raspberries so I guess he figured he could solo too. Last Edited by FlashBuzzkill on 03/03/2020 11:59 PM Gen. John B Gordon and Gen.
