Explain how to calculate mortality rate without using the entire amount of cases without known resolutions? The accurate way to do it is to use the information you have at hand rather than speculate on how those currently sick will fare at the end of disease. Dead/Dead+Recovered gives you the CFR. The accurate way to do it is to use the total number of cases. NOT what you have done. Using the recovered is a fucking idiotic attempt to garner clicks for your over-hyped thread. We do not know the true total but we can be quite sure that total number is a magnitude over the reported cases. Therefore when they say 2% we should be able to speculate the true mortality rate is easily 1%. Now take into effect the countries of the reported cases and weigh their healthcare systems vs the first world systems we (have created and enjoy) here in the US... Well shit now the 1% dropped even further.. See where I'm going with this? Or shall I explain further? Bro, I've heard this many times and I simply disagree. I don't think that is an accurate way to gauge this at all. In the end, the CFR is ALWAYS counted the way I am describing, but in the heat of the outbreak... the way you are doing it is misleading because it makes assumptions. I am using cold hard data that already exists. Next, you will say that there are so many mild cases out there so it will bring the number down even further, but by the same token... there are presumably a proportionate number of severe cases or even dead with unknown causes of severe disease and death because they aren't testing. You can't have it both ways, if there are milder unrecognized cases, then there are surely severe/dead that went undiagnosed as well.
