...

Trees only obscure the bottom of the rocket. The top is still visible. Anyone past the age of 2 understands that things don't stop existing just because something is between you and the thing. And yes, I've driven up to them afterwards. They're still there.

 Quoting: Astroshill

Just simply typing "no" would do. Anyone over the age of 2 can read past your obfuscation
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70959057

It's not obfuscation. It's me explaining why your arbitrary goalpost is horseshit. Hey genius, what do you see all around the landing pads in that pic up there? Tell me, what do you see? Trees! The landing pads are in a nature preserve, it's buffer space to make sure if anything goes wrong it doesn't damage civilian areas just a few miles away. There's nowhere I can go to track it continuously with my telescope from launch to landing where the landing is not at least partially obscured by trees. However, partial is not total and I HAVE proven that these landings are real. You can still see the top of the booster AFTER touchdown. Guess what that means genius? It's still there and it's real. I was the first to do that out of anyone in the civilian population starting with the first Falcon Heavy launch. Nothing you say will ever turn these facts into "obfuscation."
 Quoting: Astroshill

So any unmolested views of the landing we have to rely on SpaceX to analyze the landings?

Thanks.

Please, keep the theatrics out of this. They may impress ignorant followers, but really just weaken your stance by showing your bias
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70959057

Unmolested, unedited footage of the landing. You want the raw video file before YouTube compression? I'll ram that shit down your throat too:
[link to drive.google.com (secure)]
I'm going to give you one more chance, cocksucker. If I film even better footage of a landing tonight with fewer trees, will you come back here and apologize? Yes or no?

If I filmed something I knew was true - I surely wouldn't act as insecure as this fella.

I'd be "if you don't believe me, I don't care. I have no profit in proving this to be true to you"

Odd behavior and only adding to my skepticism

Nothing odd about it, you are implying that it's fake, I know for a fact it's not, and I can't stand you spreading ignorance. You won't even man up to apologize if I come back with even better footage tonight. You're done on my threads. Don't circumvent my thread ban.

And yes, I stand to profit from proving my footage is real. I wrote the tracking software I and others use for tracking these rockets with amateur hardware. That is my intellectual property, people claiming it's fake degrade the value and the reputation of my product. It has already opened major doors for me to collaborations with other professionals, and I will not sit idly by while cocksucking pieces of shit like you go around trying to imply there's something wrong with my footage. Suck on it you fucking bastard.

"SpaceX" is a real thing dude.
I watched starlink satellites the other morning while out walking the dog. All going from west to east in the clear, predawn sky.

Their goal is to place 12,000 satellites up there. Imagine looking up into the clear night sky without being able to NOT see a lot of moving objects overhead.

Why?

So everyone can have satellite Internet (and who knows what else) so Musk can make enough $ to advance is mars projects.

I'm actually a fan, OP.

Thanks for claiming it's fake without evidence. It's not fake you fucking piece of shit. If you're so confident it's fake, then fly out here to Florida and say that shit to my face as you witness the next LZ-1 landing. Hell, I'll even arrange to get you on base and drive you up to the fucking booster after it lands, then you can explain to me how the thing towering over you isn't actually there. Inviting you to see it in person and up close is a "threat?" The only thing I threatened was your false beliefs. Keep running and hiding from the truth, coward. I offered you a remarkable opportunity to see a SpaceX booster on the landing pad closer than anyone in the general public gets to see. Thanks for proving you're not interested in the truth.

SpaceX is set to launch CRS-20 tonight at 11:50 pm eastern time. This will be the final launch of the original ISS cargo resupply contract. The next mission, CRS-21, will bring with it some changes in how SpaceX conducts these missions, including recovering the capsules in the Atlantic. The first stage booster, B1059, was last used to launch CRS-19, and will be attempting an LZ-1 landing after tonight's launch. The second stage was swapped with one already being prepared for a Starlink launch next week after a valve problem was found with the second stage originally designated for tonight's launch. Ground winds are the primary weather concern for tonight, but are expected to lessen if they need to go to the backup opportunity tomorrow night.

You mean the ice that slides around the turbo pump exhaust manifold every single time they launch this type of rocket? I'm watching the first stage right now as it depressurizes itself and I can hear them emptying the tanks. It's quite real.
